Union City United Methodist Church began as one of two Methodist churches after the settlement of Union City in 1890 in unassigned lands in the midst of almost 40 federally recognized Native American reservations. Methodist circuit rider Reverend Light shared the gospel and a small group formed.
In 1898 we built the first church building. Since then, we rebuilt twice, once due to fire. Our pews today still show the burn marks. Yet we persevere as a proud prairie church committed to making disciples of all people.
Today UCUMC exists to love our community and keep our doors open to anyone searching for the exciting journey that Jesus the Christ offers to all people. Everyone is welcome her
We are a church focused on helping make the community around us a better, happier place. With the help of our volunteers, we organize food assistance, youth ministry, and other events that allow us to connect everyone in and around our community.
